Add Shuffl's MCP server: https://shuffl.ai/api/mcp Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http shuffl https://shuffl.ai/api/mcp When the browser opens, choose my workspace and allow the access the guide needs. 3. Work through the steps in order: Connect Personio to People. Do what you can over MCP and tell me which steps only I can do in the browser or in Slack. Show me what you will change and who it affects, and wait for my yes before publishing, inviting or sending anything.

What Personio does in Shuffl
Personio is the HR system at many European companies. Connect an API credential and People keeps titles, managers, departments, teams, start dates and leavers from Personio.
You need to be a Shuffl workspace administrator, with an administrator in Personio for the steps there.
Connect Personio to People
- In Shuffl, open People, then the Sync tab. Under Add a source, choose Connect on Personio.
- In Personio, open Settings → Integrations → API credentials and generate a new credential named Shuffl.
- Let it read Employees with these attributes: name, preferred name, email, status, position, supervisor, department, team, hire date and termination date.
- Paste the client ID and secret into Shuffl. Shuffl checks them by reading employees before saving them.
- Choose Connect and sync. The first sync runs straight away and says how many people were new or linked.
- Review the new people in People and enable access for those who should use Shuffl. A sync never turns access on.
What comes in
Shuffl reads Personio once a day. Sync now on its card reads it at once. Shuffl only reads; it never changes anything in Personio.
Personio’s values replace People’s on every read, so fix a wrong title or manager in Personio. A blank keeps what People has.
From Personio into Shuffl
- Everyone, with names and work emails
- Job titles
- Managers
- Departments
- Teams and groups, the ones you choose
- Start dates
- Leavers
What it does for HR
In Shuffl
- Start dates start onboarding playbooks on their own, put new hires on Home and drive work anniversaries.
- Managers fill the org chart, so playbook meet steps, manager to-dos and 30/60/90 plans reach the right person.
- Departments become department groups, so Pulse, eNPS and Culture compare teams without exposing anyone.
- Teams you bring in become synced groups for Pulse questions, automations, Connections and messages.
- Leavers lose access when they leave, and a termination date sets their last day, which can start a leaving playbook.
- Mello knows each person’s title, manager and department when it answers.
Good to know
Allow every attribute the credential asks for. One left out comes through blank, and a blank keeps what People has.
Personio sends no live changes, so Shuffl reads it once a day.
With your other systems
Connect your HR system before an identity provider such as Okta, so it owns start dates, managers and departments. Slack and single sign-on keep names and emails.
If it stops working
When a card reads Needs attention, Personio refused Shuffl’s key or sign-in. Create a new one in Personio and connect again; Shuffl replaces the stored one. A failed run changes nobody.
Disconnect stops syncing and deletes the stored key. Everyone stays in People to edit by hand.
