Mentorship
Mentorship programs that keep meeting
People join as a mentor or mentee. Shuffl suggests each pair or mentees pick, Pick a time books the meeting, and check-ins keep pairs meeting.

How it works
From sign-up to a finished pairing
Start a program for everyone or one group in a minute.
- Pairing
A set length
Twelve weeks by default, with a check-in every two. Pick any length.
- Matching
Suggested with a reason
Shared topics, time at the company and time zone. Every suggestion says why.
- Goals
Goals the mentee owns
Mentees set up to five goals. Mentors read them; HR never does.
- Check-ins
Private check-ins
One tap in Slack. HR sees who is meeting; partners never see each other’s answers.
Approval
Pairs outside the reporting line
Shuffl never pairs someone with their own manager or report. Nothing is sent until HR approves a pair.
- Or let mentees choose. Or mentees pick from three mentors with room. The mentor accepts or passes.
- Pause or end any time. Either person can pause or end early. Finishing earns the Mentor badge.
- See how pairs are doing. Insights compares new pairs, check-ins and early ends with the period before. Goals stay private.
Every meeting
Meetings that happen, with a plan
Connect Google Calendar or Microsoft 365, with Zoom if you like, and Pick a time finds 30 minutes both are free.
- First meeting booked. The introduction carries a first agenda and Pick a time. A week in with nothing booked, one reminder.
- Prep before each meeting. Last time’s thing to try, open goals and questions for this stage of the pairing.
- Notes only the pair sees. Either person notes what came up and one thing to try. HR never reads them.
For mentors
Mentors who know what to do next
Mentors say how many mentees and hours they can give, read a short guide, then see what each mentee needs next.
- Help in the moment. Questions for each stage of a pairing, and for when you’re stuck. Mello coaches you on your own pairings.
- Feedback that stays anonymous. At the end, mentees say what helped and one thing to change. Mentors see it once three have answered, unnamed.
- Mentor circles. HR sets a short meeting where a program’s mentors swap what works. Each mentor hears once.
Formats and cohorts
Mentoring in the shape that fits
Run one-to-one pairings, a single conversation, a circle or reverse mentoring. Or start everyone together as a cohort.
- Cohorts with one start. Sign-up closes, Shuffl suggests every match, and approved pairs all start on one day.
- Circles, ask once and reverse. One mentor meets three to five mentees. Ask once is a single conversation; reverse pairs newer people as mentors.
- Credit that counts. Mentees thank their mentor at the end. It can show on their profile or reach their manager.
For HR and leaders
Keep mentoring moving
Each program opens with what needs you, one step each. Leaders see how their people take part and help close the gaps.
- What needs you. Approve matches, nudge pairs that stopped meeting, and find mentors for topics people want most.
- Invite mentors. Shuffl suggests people for a topic and drafts the note. They answer Yes, Not now or Ask me later.
- Leaders and outcomes. Participation by team, outcomes against peers, and a sponsor’s note on a cohort. Totals only, never goals.
