Why we built Shuffl
“I started Shuffl because I liked meeting people at work.”
In 2014 I was at Simply Measured. We were growing fast, and soon nobody could know everyone. The culture started to change. So I helped set up lunches between coworkers who hadn’t met.
It worked. People made friends on other teams, the silos came down, and it still felt like a startup where everyone knew and trusted each other. Work got more fun.
In 2017 I turned the lunches into a Slack app so any company could use it. When the pandemic sent everyone home in 2020, teams flocked to it, and Matt Lee and I went all in.
This year AI let me rebuild Shuffl into what I always wanted it to be. I want everyone to feel like they work somewhere the culture comes first. That compounds over time, and it’s how you build a company people love working at. I believe every company should have this, so I’m giving it away for free.
You spend long hours at work. You should get to be yourself there, trust the people around you and enjoy it.
