How-to guide

Use Shuffl with Dropbox

Connect Dropbox to let Mello answer from your documents, and see what Shuffl does with it.

For HR and IT administrators

Have your agent do thisPaste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor or another agent. It follows this guide over MCP and asks before it changes anything others will see.Show the prompt
Help me with "Use Shuffl with Dropbox" in my Shuffl workspace.

1. Read the guide: https://shuffl.ai/docs/markdown/dropbox
2. Add Shuffl's MCP server: https://shuffl.ai/api/mcp
Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http shuffl https://shuffl.ai/api/mcp
When the browser opens, choose my workspace and allow the access the guide needs.
3. Work through the steps in order: Answer from Dropbox. Do what you can over MCP and tell me which steps only I can do in the browser or in Slack.

Show me what you will change and who it affects, and wait for my yes before publishing, inviting or sending anything.

What Dropbox does in Shuffl

Keep policies in Dropbox and Mello answers from the files you pick. Shuffl watches each file and holds a changed version for HR to review.

You need to be a Shuffl workspace administrator, with an administrator in Dropbox for the steps there.

Answer from Dropbox

  1. On Knowledge → Connections, choose Connect next to Dropbox.
  2. Sign in with the Dropbox account that can open the files.
  3. Approve read access for Shuffl. Nothing is written to Dropbox.
  4. Pick a file from a folder or a search; it is read as a draft for review.
  5. Check the draft’s text, audience and review date, then publish it.

Shuffl reads: PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Markdown, HTML, text. You pick each one, and Shuffl never writes to Dropbox.

In Shuffl

  • Mello answers from what you publish, with a citation, to the audience you set.
  • A new version in Dropbox becomes a draft for HR to review. The old text stops being used once the change is found.
  • Disconnecting withdraws every document it brought in. The originals stay where they are.

If it stops working

When a source reads Access lost or Sync needs attention, check that the connected account can still open it in Dropbox, then choose Check now.

Disconnect and withdraw deletes the stored key and withdraws what it brought in. Drafts, versions and the originals stay.
