Letters on request, and time off approved in Slack

Letters people need for a landlord or bank now draft themselves, and time off is approved in Slack by the person your HR system names.

Proof-of-employment letters

Ask for a proof-of-employment letter and Shuffl drafts it from People on your company’s template, with only the facts you pick. A letter without a salary needs nobody and is ready to download in a minute. Salary letters wait for an administrator, who types the figure.

Approve time off where it lands

When Mello files time off in BambooHR or Deel, the approver that system names gets it in Slack and on Approvals, and their Approve or Decline is recorded there as theirs. Once it is approved, Shuffl can set your Slack status on your first day out and block your calendar, if you turn those on in Settings → Calendar.

Requests for anything, and Recognition

People can ask for anything that needs a yes, and Shuffl carries out approved Slack requests itself. Praise and Celebrations now sit together under Recognition.

Ask for anything that needs a yes

New request on your Me page covers anything that needs a yes, such as a desk, an employment letter or a conference ticket. Say what you need and Mello picks the kind and asks its questions. Approvers decide from Slack, email or Approvals, and each request keeps its history. HR keeps the catalog, and Draft with Mello writes a new kind from a few sentences.

Approved requests happen in Slack

A request for a new Slack channel, a place in a channel or user group, or a guest invite shows the approver exactly what Shuffl will do. Once they approve, Shuffl makes the change in Slack, checks it took and marks the request done. If Slack refuses, the request says why and offers Try again.

Praise and Celebrations, together as Recognition

Praise and Celebrations now share one Recognition page, with tabs for praise, celebrations, your own and badges. Without a praise channel, praise still shows in Shuffl and on the person’s profile, and new praise posts in Slack once an administrator picks a channel.

Your next setup step, on Home

Until setup is done, Home shows administrators how far along they are, with the next step and a Continue setup button. Empty Pulse, Praise and Celebrations pages give anyone who manages the workspace the button to turn them on.

Mentorship, and one Inbox for HR

Mentorship programs are here, and HR gets one Inbox. Groups can now act on their own whenever someone joins or leaves.

Mentorship programs

HR can run mentorship programs for everyone or one group: one to one, circles, reverse mentoring or a cohort that starts together. Shuffl suggests a mentor for each mentee with a reason, or lets mentees pick from three mentors with room. Each pair gets an introduction with a first agenda, a Pick a time button, goals only the two of them see and a short prep before each meeting.

Read the Mentorship guide

One Inbox for HR

People who run the workspace switch to the HR workspace from the top bar, with Inbox, Today, People, programs, Knowledge and Settings in one rail. The Inbox lists every HR request, review and Pulse action in one place, with Mine, Unassigned and Overdue filters and a reply pane beside the list. Requests in a category can also go straight to Jira Service Management, Linear, Zendesk or Freshservice.

Automations for every join and leave

When someone joins or leaves a group, an automation can welcome them, ask a Pulse question, give a badge, add them to a Slack channel or another group, tell someone, or start a playbook. Each one can wait a week or a month first. Every rule now lives on one Automations page, and a leaving playbook can start on its own when someone gets a last day.

30/60/90 plans and buddies for new hires

When a hire starts a playbook, Mello drafts a 30/60/90 plan for their manager to edit and share, and only the two of them read the goals. Playbooks can now give some hires different steps, introduce a hire to the people they’ll work with, ask them about themselves for their profile, and run a buddy program with volunteers. Before their Slack is ready, steps go by email.

Time off, filed in your HR system

Ask Mello to book days off and it prepares the request with your balance and dates. Nothing is filed until you press the button, then it waits for your manager in Deel, HiBob or BambooHR. You hear when it’s approved, and you can cancel it while it’s pending.

Read the People Sync guide

Ask for access to the apps you need

Apps lists the tools people can ask for, who owns each one and how requests are decided. Approvers answer from Slack or email, and the owner gets a to-do to set it up. If you connect JumpCloud, Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID, approving a request adds the person to the right groups there, and their last day takes them out again.

One Shuffl for HR, with Groups and playbooks

HR now works in the same Shuffl as everyone else. Groups keep themselves current, and playbooks cover every move from a new manager to a last day.

Groups that keep themselves up to date

A group is a list of people you pick, or rules like “Engineering, started this year” that keep it up to date as people join, move and leave. Pulse questions, playbooks, Connections and messages can go to a group instead of everyone. A group can also act on its own: welcome each new member, or start a playbook when someone joins. Teams are groups too, and Slack user groups and synced groups from your HR system arrive ready to use.

Read the Groups guide

Playbooks for new managers, returns and leavers

Onboarding is now one kind of playbook. Templates cover new managers, people back from leave, team moves, policy roll-outs, intern cohorts and leavers, each counting from the right day. Add check-ins with your own questions on any day, and choose what someone who joins late gets from the steps they missed. A leaving playbook counts from a last day you set in People, and stays between HR and the manager until you say it’s been announced.

Policies Mello drafts, with sources

Every policy template is now a complete policy, and there are 21 of them. Shuffl fills in what it already knows, like who answers HR questions and where people work. Draft with Mello fills the rest and labels each value: from your company, from the law with a link to the official page, or typical so you check it. Once a policy is published, you can ask people to confirm they read it, or download every page as one handbook.

See how culture is doing, and what to do next

Culture brings praise, introductions, onboarding and Pulse onto one page. It opens with the steps Mello thinks will help most this week, then the teams furthest behind, each with its next step and a detail view that says why. It also shows which departments haven’t met in 90 days, what you tried and whether it worked, and what Mello handled for you.

One Shuffl for HR and everyone else

HR no longer switches to a separate Manage area. Shuffl has one top bar, and people who run the workspace get a For HR menu beside the search box with what needs them, Today, Culture, workspace settings and each program Mello runs, marked On or Off. People, Knowledge, Praise and Communities are the same pages everyone uses, with HR tabs marked. Home shows admins a Needs you card.

Pulse on the days you choose

Pulse can repeat every day, every week, every two weeks, once a month on a weekday you pick, or on your own gap. Pick the days with the day circles and Shuffl reads the schedule back with the next three send dates. Results now split by any group, and you can choose to show everyone the company-wide results.

A new Home, and the first 90 days

Home and People are new for everyone, Manage opens on what needs you, and new hires get check-ins through their first 90 days.

A new Home for everyone

Home opens with Mello, a line on your company’s week and a box to ask a question. Story rings show today’s moments, and For you lines up the ones that ask something of you, like a birthday or a new hire to welcome. This week counts new faces, celebrations and thank-yous, and your shortcuts only list the parts of Shuffl your workspace uses.

Find anyone, and see the company at a glance

People opens on one search box for a name, a team or something a coworker knows about, with suggestions to start from. Under it, your company at a glance: how it has grown, who does what, average tenure and who is in working hours right now. It shows counts only, never anyone’s dates.

Manage starts with what needs you

Manage now opens on Today. Mello greets you with what needs you, like HR requests waiting or a Pulse action past due, and this month’s results sit underneath as tiles with small charts. When an area isn’t running yet, Mello offers a ready-made setup you can start, change or dismiss.

The first 90 days, for hires and their managers

Every hire in an onboarding program now gets check-ins on day 30, 60 and 90, and their manager gets a private Slack nudge every week or two through week 12 to spend 15 minutes together. New hires see the whole timeline under Your journeys. HR reads the answers on First 90 days, combined and without names once at least seven hires have answered.

A page for every community

Each community has its own page with its cover, recent posts from its Slack channel, the newest members and a button to open the channel in Slack. Posts from a private channel only show to members.

Team cards for anniversaries and birthdays

A week before a work anniversary or birthday someone shares, Mello asks their teammates and manager to sign a team card, one note each. The person gets it on the day. Managers also get a private heads-up in Slack a week ahead, and admins choose whether anniversaries count from the latest start date or the first hire date.

Pulse actions and who knows what

Plan what you’ll do about a Pulse result, ask Mello who knows about a topic, and praise a coworker without leaving Shuffl.

Turn a Pulse result into an action

When a Pulse question closes, admins get the result with Mello’s read on it. From any result you can plan an action with an owner and a due date, and tell people once what you’re changing. The Actions tab shows what’s past due and whether the score moved the next time the question was asked.

Read the Pulse guide

Mello suggests the next Pulse questions

With AI analysis on, Mello proposes Pulse questions each week from your recent results, each with a one-line reason such as a score that fell. It flags wording that pushes people toward an answer or touches a sensitive topic. Nothing is asked until someone approves it on the Questions tab or from Slack.

Find out who knows about something

Ask Mello who knows about payments, SCIM or anything else, and it names coworkers from what they share on their profiles, with a link to each one. Introduce me drafts a short hello you can send them. Type a topic in ⌘K to find the same people.

Praise a coworker from their profile

Choose Praise on anyone’s profile and the composer opens with them already picked. Say what they did, tag a company value and check how it will look. Shuffl posts it in your praise channel for you.

HR requests sorted by category

Mello files each HR request under a category, and that category’s owner hears about it. Sensitive categories, like employee relations, open only for the people you name. You set a response target in business days. When you close a request, you note whether an article answered it or one is needed, and Mello can draft the missing one from your reply.

See who can use Shuffl, and invite everyone at once

People now shows whether each person is active in Shuffl, invited or not invited yet. Invite one person from their row, several at once, or everyone who hasn’t had an invite in one step.

Read the employee access guide

Companies and workspaces

Keep your company’s sign-in and administration together, with separate workspaces when you need them.

One company, room for more workspaces

Company settings now holds company members, sign-in, email domains, directory provisioning, Slack and billing. Each workspace keeps its own People, Knowledge, HR and programs. Company owners and administrators can add workspaces and choose a default. The workspace picker stays within your company. Switch companies, create another or open Company settings from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar. Owners can delete a company with all its workspaces and restore it within 30 days.

Home, Praise and Celebrations

Employees get a Home page, praise and profiles have more room, and HR can run birthdays, work anniversaries and eNPS from Shuffl.

A Home page for everyone at work

Employees now open Shuffl on Home. Today’s Pulse question, recent praise, new hires and news about the people they know sit on one page, with Ask Mello at the top. On a phone, the tabs people use most stay pinned to the bottom of the screen.

Praise has its own place

Praise moved out of Pulse and into its own place in the menu. Shuffl picks up praise posted in your Slack praise channel, and Mello reacts with an emoji so people can see it was counted. Reactions from coworkers are counted too.

The Praise feed with thank-you notes between coworkers

Profiles people want to fill in

Profiles now have a cover, big quick stats, who someone reports to and their birthday. Mello can draft your bio for you to check, you can make a profile photo with AI, and View as shows your profile the way a coworker sees it.

Write your company values with AI

Company values is now a Knowledge page. Start from values published by companies like Netflix, Patagonia and HubSpot, or press Write with AI for a first draft. An approver still signs it off before anyone sees it, and once it’s published, Praise uses the same values.

Birthdays and work anniversaries, shared only with a yes

Turn on birthdays and work anniversaries separately, each with its own channel, message and send time. A week before someone’s day, Mello asks them in Slack whether to share it. Nothing is posted without a yes, and coworkers can add a note in the thread.

More about Celebrations

eNPS in Pulse

Pulse can ask the standard eNPS question, how likely you are to recommend working here on a scale of 0 to 10, on its own schedule. It’s quarterly by default. Insights shows the score, how it splits into promoters, passives and detractors, and how it has moved. As with every Pulse answer, results stay hidden until enough people have responded.

Templates to start from, with pictures

Communities and Badges now open on a gallery of starters, like a book club, a fitness group or a parents and caregivers group, each with its own illustration. The same drawings appear on the templates in Knowledge, Connections, Onboarding, Pulse and Celebrations, so an empty page shows people where to begin.
