Join a program
Open Mentorship from Home once HR starts a program. Until you have a pair, How mentorship works sums up the four steps: join, get matched, meet, check in. Each program shows how long pairings last and how often you check in.
Choose Find a mentor or Become a mentor, and say what you want to learn or can help with. Your match reads it too. The program then says whether you’re waiting for a match or matched. You can join as both, and leave any time.

Pick your mentor
Some programs let you pick your mentor. Shuffl shows up to three mentors with room, outside your reporting line, with why each fits. Choose Ask and they get a message.
The mentor accepts, which starts your pairing and introduces you both, or passes, and you pick again. Nobody sees who else you were offered, and you’re never told why someone passed.

Your pairing
Once your pair starts, you both get an introduction with a first agenda and Pick a time, which finds 30 minutes you’re both free and sends the invite. The card shows your next meeting. A week in with nothing booked, Shuffl reminds you once.
Before each meeting the card shows what to bring: the thing you said you’d try, open goals and questions for this stage. After you meet, either of you adds notes and one thing to try. Only the two of you read them; HR never does.
The mentee writes up to five goals for the pairing and ticks them off. The mentor can read them; HR never sees them.
Every few weeks each of you is asked whether you met, with one tap in Slack or on the page. HR sees the answers; your partner doesn’t. Either of you can pause, resume or end the pairing early.

Become a mentor
Become a mentor asks what you can help with, with topics from your profile to add. Pick how many mentees you take and the hours you can give each month. Shuffl never suggests you more mentees than you chose.
Then a short guide says what good mentors do and which topics aren’t yours to fix, such as pay or a conflict with a manager. Open it again any time from Help with mentoring. Change your answers with Change on the program.

Your mentees
Your mentees come first, with how many spots are taken. A banner names what needs you: a check-in, no meeting in three weeks, no goals yet, or halfway with no goal done. Each card says if the pairing is on track.
Questions to ask has tabs for a first meeting, the middle, when you’re stuck and the last meeting. Ask Mello under Help with mentoring coaches you from your own pairings and their goals, never anyone else’s.

What mentees said
When a pairing ends, the mentee is asked two things: what helped most, and one thing to change. Either can be left blank, and the mentee can edit their answer later.
The mentor sees the answers only once three mentees have answered, as unnamed lists in alphabetical order, so nobody can tell who said what. HR never sees them. You as a mentor also counts who you mentored, meetings and goals finished.
Thank your mentor
When a pairing ends, the mentee can thank their mentor in their own words, and the mentor always gets it.
Show it on their profile adds it to the mentor’s Mentoring section. Let their manager know sends it to the mentor’s manager once.
Pick a praise channel to post it there too. A profile’s Mentoring section counts who someone mentored and what they help with. Its owner can hide it; then coworkers see nothing.

Start a program
Administrators open Mentorship, then Programs, then New program. Before the first program, Start a program on the Yours tab opens the same form. Pick who can join: everyone or one group. Each program’s button says what’s next, such as Approve 2 matches.
Set how long a pairing lasts, how often pairs check in and how many mentees each mentor takes. A new program starts with the terms on Mentorship → Settings. Changes apply to pairs approved afterwards.

Approve pairs
Suggest matches gives each waiting mentee one mentor. It favors shared topics, more time at the company and the same time zone, and spreads mentees across mentors.
Or set How matches are made to let mentees pick from three mentors. Mentors then accept or pass, and the program lists who is waiting on an answer.
Nobody is paired with someone in their reporting line, a person they were paired with before, or a pair you kept apart in Connections. Nothing is sent until you approve a pair; Skip suggests someone else next time.

Program formats
Format sets how a program pairs people. One to one is the usual pairing. Ask once is a single conversation over two weeks, with one check-in and no goals.
Circle has one mentor meet three to five mentees together, with Pick a time for the whole circle.
Reverse mentoring flips matching: it favors mentors newer to the company than their mentee, such as someone showing a long-tenured lead new tools.
Run a cohort
Set When pairs start to Together, as a cohort, then pick when sign-up closes and the start day. People join until sign-up closes; then Shuffl suggests every match at once.
Approve each match, or Approve all. Approved pairs wait and all start on the start day, with an introduction that says how many pairs begin together. Each pair sees a timeline from kickoff to wrap-up, and everyone gets a wrap-up message in the last week.

Follow a program
The program page shows each pair meeting now, how many check-ins they answered and how often they met. Ended pairs show whether each person said it helped.
End pair stops a pair; Remove takes a person off the program so they’re never suggested. Pause stops joining and check-ins; Archive ends every pair. A mentor whose pairing finishes gets the Mentor badge.
Who joined shows how many mentees each mentor takes and the hours they can give.
What needs you
A program page opens with what needs you, one step each: Review matches, Nudge all pairs that haven’t met in three weeks, Find mentors for a short topic, or Rematch.
Whether a pair met comes from check-ins and meetings booked in Shuffl, never their notes. Nudge all reaches each pair once a week at most. Below sit pairs meeting, met rate, mentees waiting, typical days to match, and want against offer by topic.

Invite mentors
Find mentors suggests people for a topic from their titles, time here, who they manage and praise that mentions it. Pick people, edit the drafted note and tick Tell their managers if you like, then Send.
Each person gets your note in Slack or email with Yes, Not now and Ask me later. Yes opens the mentor sign-up; nobody becomes a mentor until they finish it. Invited to mentor lists each answer.

Mentor circles
A mentor circle is a short meeting where a program’s mentors swap what’s working. On the program page, Set a circle picks a day, time, length and an optional topic. Each active mentor hears about it once and answers I’ll come or Can’t make it.
The card counts who’s going. Move changes the time without telling anyone again; Call it off cancels it. Once a month works for most programs.

See how pairs are doing
Insights shows pairs meeting now, new pairs, check-ins answered and pairs that ended early, each against the period before. Mello says what waits on you, such as matches to approve.
Pick 30, 90 or 180 days, and one program if you run several. See trend on a program page opens it here. Insights counts answers; it never reads goals.

Outcomes
Outcomes compares people mentored three months to two years ago with peers at similar tenure: who is still here, who moved team or title, and goals finished.
Either group under five people shows Too few to show. Download CSV saves the counts. Pulse answers stay anonymous, so they aren’t part of it.

Leaders and sponsors
Leaders opens for anyone with seven or more people under them, and for HR across the company. It shows how many take part against the company, by team, with teams under seven grouped, and the topics short of mentors.
Ask my managers to mentor sends them an invite, Mentor one person opens the sign-up, and Sponsor puts your note on an upcoming cohort’s invite and kickoff. Leaders see totals and shared thank-yous, never goals or notes.

Settings for new programs
Mentorship → Settings, also under Settings → Programs, sets what a new program starts with. The defaults are 12-week pairings, a check-in every 2 weeks and up to 2 mentees per mentor.
Programs already running keep their own terms; change those with Edit on the program.
