Launch announcements
HR assistant launch announcement
A short post that introduces an HR assistant to your company, with example questions people can ask on day one.
Today, in the HR workspace. Today shows Tell your team what they can ask, the same post built from what Mello can answer in your workspace, with Copy post.
Send it on launch day from someone people know, in a channel everyone reads, and by email for anyone who doesn’t use Slack.
This is the post Shuffl offers on Today once a policy is published, before it is tailored to your workspace.

How a launch is communicated shapes adoption
How a launch is communicated shapes adoption. 25% of US employees say their organization has shared a clear plan for AI (Gallup, May 2026) (Gallup, 2026). 43% of US non-users of available AI tools cite privacy or security concerns (Gallup, 2026) (Gallup, April 12, 2026). 78% of employees whose manager backs AI use are frequent users, vs 44% (Gallup, 2026) (Gallup, April 12, 2026).
Launch post
Change the example questions to ones your own policies answer.
Meet Mello, our new HR assistant in Slack and Shuffl. Ask it things like: • What’s our time off policy? • Who should I meet at work? • Help me fill in my profile. • Which communities could I join? It answers from our approved policies and shows its sources. If it can’t help, it helps you send the question to HR. Your chats are private: managers, HR and admins can’t read them. Message Mello in Slack (under Apps), or open Shuffl on the web.
How to adapt it
- Only list questions your published policies can answer.
- Say who can read the chats. People ask more when they know it is private.
- Send the post first, then turn on access in the same hour.
What the research says
Most employees haven’t been told how new AI tools fit their work. As of May 2026, 25% of US employees said their organization had communicated a clear plan for integrating AI into current practices, and 30% used AI a few times a week or more.1
An announcement can answer the reasons people hold back. Among employees who don’t use AI tools available to them, 46% prefer to keep working as they do now, 43% have concerns about data privacy, security and compliance, and 39% don’t believe AI can help with their work.2 Saying what the tool answers and who can see the questions speaks to two of those.
Managers matter most. 78% of employees who strongly agree their manager actively supports AI use are frequent users, compared with 44% of those who don’t.2 Where frequent use, a clear plan and manager support all come together, engagement rises to 53%.3
Common mistakes
- Announcing it once. Repeat it in team meetings, onboarding and the HR channel over the first few weeks.
- Skipping managers. Brief them first so they can answer questions and try it in front of their team.
- Launching before you’ve tried it yourself. Ask it the questions people will ask on day one.
- Not deciding what success looks like. Pick a measure for the first 30 days, like how many people asked a question.
Common questions
- How do you announce a new tool to employees?
- Say what it is, what problem it solves for them and how to start, in a few short lines. Send it from someone people know, in the channel they already read, and give a few real examples to try.
- When should you announce a new HR tool?
- When it’s ready to use, not before. Brief managers a few days ahead, then announce and switch on access the same day so people can try it while they’re curious.
- How do you get employees to use a new tool?
- Make the first try easy and useful, answer privacy questions up front, and ask managers to use it in front of their teams. Then share examples of questions people have asked, so others see what it’s good for.
